What would they do with the Death Note?

Demons Edition

Nikolai Stavrogin: would be interested and grill the Shinigami for information, but ultimately would not use it and give it away as soon as he grew bored with it.

Ivan Shatov: would fall into a crisis of fate upon learning that there are Shinigamis. Would, of course, not use the Death Note and would probably destroy it. Before that, however, he would have one tiny moment of doubt and consider whether God sent him the notebook to make him his weapon. Would then have a mental breakdown and blame himself for the rest of his life.

Alexei Kirilow: would not use the Death Note, but would probably become friends with the Shinigami who brought it to him. They would have long discussions about life, death and morality. He would also not bother to hide that he can see the Shinigami, furthering his status as a perceived lunatic.

Liza Tushina: Would start writing a name of someone she doesn't like in a moment of passion, panick, erase the name and have a breakdown.

Darya Shatova: Would not use the Death note. Would hide it somewhere.

Stepan Verkhovensky: would launch into an extensive lecture about morality, the failures of man and if God exists, boring the Shinigami so much that they would write his name into the death note.

Warwara Petrovna: would not use the Death Note. Would, however, give the Shinigami a stern talking-to and embarrass them so much that they would end up leaving her alone and very ashamed of themselves.

Pyotr Verkhovensky: would absolutely use the death note. Would stage a Kira-like plan, but with the difference that he would kill basically everyone who does not agree with him, furthering his revolutionistic goals. Would also probably do some really weird and gross mind control shit concerning Stavrogin once he's gone completly insane.

Even though Mystique was also a victim to Razor and his crew, though not out there or physically, should she still be viewed as a monster in everyone's eyes since she kinda knew her brother's disgusting behavior? Does she deserve everything that comes to her, even if that means harm from the Clan cats (especially from the other Clans if or whenever they find out RisingClan captured the city cat's leader sister?) I'm not asking as an author, but if someone like her was a real person in the real world

No, absolutely not. Mystique is not the enemy. She's just a privileged and ignorant person who hasn't had to deal with the ramifications of the system she benefits from and supports. She does not deserve "everything that comes to her", honestly I don't think anybody does. I think that talking about "what people deserve" isn't productive or helpful at all. If we want to commit to restorative justice we need to divest ourselves from the concept of people getting "what they deserve" and instead focus on what makes society safest for everyone.

So while it's super understandable that people see her as harmful or hard to be around, especially cats like Scorch and Aldertail who have specific trauma related reasons to feel that way, and I will continue to defend their right to feel how they want about her, I think the way she "should" be viewed is as someone who has heretofore been unaware of the harm she and her brother have caused and who needs kindness and understanding as she starts to work on herself and learn to be a better person. She should still be held accountable for the wrongs she did but she should also be extended compassion and patience while she makes them right.

I love how HSR characters are utterly over the top but are also serious at the same time because their motivations and beliefs which these funny behaviours stem from are never ridiculed.

I mean look at Argenti, he's basically a host in armor with a PhD in theatrics, but his main motivation to find Idrilla is never made fun of by the story itself even when we learn later that there's a high chance that Aeon died.

Gentle reminder that ethics isn't a popularity contest and you shouldn't base your views on whatever it is that the people around you believe and approve of. Also, normal and commonplace does not necessarily equal morally good and weird and fringe does not necessarily equal morally bad.

Very interesting ideas about restorative vs punitative criminal justice being offered by the first few eps of this season of Invincible so far. Though I am not entirely sure this particular show is equipped to handle the discussion, I am fascinated by the attempt nevertheless

we’re pretty early in our bg3 campaign but i have fantasy au brainworms again… i just think it’s funny that my leland lore is that he ran away from his noble upbringing bc his dad sucks and he thought he could train to be a paladin because you just do what’s right, right? and then smash cut to the first time he gets into a situation where he isn’t 100% lawful good and breaks his oath trying to intervene in a situation that turns violent. literally day one. guy who is sitting in the corner of camp pouting bc oathbreaker knight was sort of intimidating and mean to him. and man dad’s gonna be so disappointed because first i ran away and then i failed at being a devotion paladin. and i can’t talk to my god so i guess i feel empty inside all the time basically!!! but at least i have my friends :’) that’s the most important thing!

Not playing Black Eagles will make you miss some important info as well as some really strong moment! You won't have the great exclusive support featuring two sad boy you don't have in Blue Lions ( Hubert and Jeritza ) and since you like the Blue Lions, the tragedy while sad is really worth watching with interesting dialog and scene, especially if you recruit Ingrid, Sylvain or Felix... Also if you want to have more about Mercedes, she's really worth recruiting to Black Eagles route specifically for a certain someone. Plus the Black Eagles cast is seriously incredible, don't sleep on them! Though Golden Deers route is also 100% worth it, there's no "better route" in this game regarding story and characters.

But thanks for the tip! I'm honestly one of those people who can barely even watch the Office or Nathan For You because I have such a strong reaction to cringe comedy. I hate it. I can't watch it at all. Doing The Bad Thing in video games is such an extension of it. You should have seen me play Disco Elysium. It was awful. The game requests discomfort from you and wants you to sit with that discomfort, and baby did I. I'm also genuinely not a huge gamer and I'm pretty selective about my time commitments though.

Pity. I know I could write some fic that fucked super hard if I went into that. Alas, limited hours in the day I choose to spend at the club.
